Start of Summer

As summer starts we enter E3 and the Prime Time Emmy battle. Not to mention all the pilots for cartoons. Whew, that was a dizzying amount of auditions!  Disney was the most generous in the amount of pilots. I can only keep my fingers crossed they take a chance on a non-celeb! This past Wed….

Emmy College Awards

A week ago I attended the Emmy College Awards Gala Event. What a fun and delicious night. I was very lucky to meet some amazing young and talented people. As a member of the Television Academy I was able to vote on 2 of the categories where these inspiring college students submitted their work….

New Show

I had so much fun voicing the main character on the pilot episode of “T-Wiz”! It’s about an intergalactic kid coming to you in 3D. Lots of fun from the creators at Extra large Technology/Thumbworld Productions. Fingers crossed this baby gets funding and we have a new series!

Been busy tackling  auditions and attending some fabulous casting director workshops. Will talk more about those later. For now, the webcast for the Annie Awards is up and running!!! You can hear me at the very beginning and throughout the show. They don’t have the end up yet, but that’s when I actually come out…

I will be one of the celebrity readers again this year, at the Staples Center on Wednesday, March 3rd. It is for the winners of the Read Across America Program. The program is to promote literacy and the Staples Center puts on a great event with the coach and some players and what should be an exciting…

Monday

Today I read to my son’s kindergarten class and handed out mini donuts to help celebrate his birthday. Got home and recorded an audition for a cat talking about how it died and a sweet, adorable little girl who believes in Santa Claus…and it’s not even noon!!! My reading at Barnes and Noble last week…

Barnes & Noble

Just found out I’ll be a guest reader at the Barnes & Noble in the Calabasas Commons this Thursday from 5:00-5:30. It is to help support and raise money for my kid’s school. What fun and a great way to find those last-minute or gift-exchange gifts and help the school at the same time! Feel free to…

Busy?!?!

It’s funny, I either have so many auditions in one day, my head is spinning and I have no time to blog, or there is nothing and I have nothing to blog about. Feast or famine as they say. Well, it’s all been good. Several great auditions and fingers crossed. Some voice work on spec…

You want what?!?!?!

Here’s a first. In my audition the other day, the client asked me to voice match a young boy. No problem. They played the Spanish version of the kid and then asked me to match him, in English but with out the Spanish accent.  Okay, I can do that…but wait. They wanted the same sound,  pace and…

Alzheimer’s Memory Walk

Yesterday I participated in the Los Angeles Alzheimer’ Memory Walk. It was a fabulous day!!! So many people were there walking for loved ones and supporting friends affected by this devastating disease. There were even a few people walking with the assistance of family as they journey through what they can still accomplish, such strength…

On-Line Gaming

Yesterday, I had a blast recording character voices for a hot new on-line game! The title is being kept confidential, I had to sign all these papers, but apparently it is highly anticipated by the avid on-line gamers.  This looks like a good one! I am just learning about this side of the game industry….

HOT NEW GAME

I will be playing 3 fabulous characters for a new on-line game! And, what makes this even extra exciting for me is that I will be working with the legendary voice director Gordon Hunt. He was my first! The first cartoon I ever recorded was for Hanna Barbara and Gordon Hunt was the director.  That…

Some of the perks are parties like these and…

Cool Auditions

Today I auditioned for 4 characters for Beverly Hills Chuhuahua2. It was a lot of work, I even went to a coach to go over some character choices. Some auditions are easy, like the one I did yesterday for Burger King. Some take time, research and practice.  It’s all fun but VERY competitive. I’d like to think…

Crazy Day

Today was just crazy.  Let’s see, in the morning I recorded two auditions: a young British girl (15) and a little 6 year old boy. I then packed the kids up to stay with their grandparents for these last few days of summer. We affectionately call this sleep away camp, Camp Mimi & Pops. I…

Things are starting to pick up so I thought I would share with you some of my auditions and the process of the voice over world. Today I auditioned for two animated projects. I got to play a boy who is from “hell”. I think he is either a demon or devil and he and…
